Soft Caramel Topping

Soft Caramel Topping
What you will need is:
1-3 cans of condensed sweetened milk(not evaporated milk)
Peal the label off of the cans. DO NOT OPEN CAN

Place in a large pot un opened with water 3-4 inches above the top of the can. (make sure the cans are fully submerged the entire boiling time, CAN WILL EXPLODE!)
Heat the water to boil for 4 hours.
Take out cans and place on a rack over night or until cool.
 Place in fridge.

Open once completely cooled, mix and place into a jar or container
I love these 12oz Little honey bear containers. When i am all done with the honey i wash them with hot water and grab my funnel to fill them up with other things!
Perfect for Caramel!
 .
This is great with apples, ice cream, Cookies. YOU NAME IT!

Review: I think this is an amazing recipe! It was super easy, i started my two cans around 6pm and took them out of the water around 10pm. I had to add more water around 8pm. I also flipped them up side down one time 1/2 way threw so it was even. At 10pm i took them out and placed them on a rack, went to bed. When i woke up i placed them in the fridge and around noon the next day for lunch i had it with some ice cream and later some cut up apples. My son absolutely loves this! It lasts us a along time! Well worth the $1.00 i got for it at Kroger around Christmas Time.

A bottle of the name brand caramel topping is around $3.78
 Savings: $2.78
In this case, it is better to make, than buy!

UPDATE:
For a harder/darker Carmel boil for longer, leave in pot over night and leave it till morning when water is cold. To make a home made gift, open can, place in canning jars... Set oven at 220 degrees F "oven canning" Bake for 1 hour on a cookie sheet. Wait till canning jar is cool, place on shelf ready to be Gifted!
